The letter face and back of letter are typically cut on a computer-controlled router. This creates the basis for the letter shape. The sides of the fabricated letter, called the returns, are then formed by bending a 25mm to 200mmH strip of acrylic sheet around the acrylic letter face. The return is glue/welded in place to the letter face to create a solid tray in the shape of the letter.
Depending on the colour of the acrylic various illumination results can be achieved.
The letter can be fitted with various types of lighting components to illuminate the letters; neon, light-emitting diode (LED) modules or fluorescent tubes.
Additional decoration can be added to the fabricated letter to enhance your unique brand, message, emotive state, environment by layering, painting, applying translucent SAV, digital print or metal finishes etc.
Considerations to take into account; power availability, council & permit requirements and costs associated with ongoing operation and maintenance.
